PRO CONTACT

Description
Ride-Through improvement system for contactors.

Application
Contactors sensitive to momentary reductions in supplied power (Voltage Sags).

Function
Avoids the continuous production process being stopped, contributing to reduced costs and enhanced productivity.

Benefits
• Better cost/benefit: designed specifically for use with contactors;
• There is no need to replace the contactor coil;
• Does not interfere with the contactor’s switching time;
• Does not require periodic maintenance (no moving parts or batteries);
• Self-adjusting operation – does not need adjustments for different contactors;
• Suited to the entire range of contactors, from auxiliary ones to power contactors;
• Independent of the contactor manufacturer;
• Operation failure display: contactor locking on closing, contactor locking on opening and absence of contactor;
• Safe internal failure modes – does not lead to contactor shutdown;
• Fully micro-processed – can have its firmware upgraded
• Adjusts perfectly to the DIN rail.

Models
For:
Low-voltage contactors (coil voltage supply 127Vac and 220Vac)
Medium-voltage contactors (coil voltage supply: 127Vac and 220Vac) - request the user manual.

Understand the Voltage Sag (Voltage Dip):
Technically, the Sag is a “decrease of 10% to 90% in the nominal RMS voltage, having a duration of 0.5 cycle to 1 minute” - IEEE Standard 1159-1995.

In practical terms, a Sag causes the voltage to drop in a way that the contactor interprets as a power outage, thereby switching off and causing undesired stopping of the process.

These shutdowns generate yearly losses of tens of billions of dollars, according to specialized agencies.
